In Some Way Shape or Form
Video premiered at 7:30 pm, September 2, 2021 Video link: In Some Way Shape or Form This concert has been produced in collaboration with the Good Neighbours Choristers. The concert primarily features music that expresses the healing power singing has, a message that is important to hear amidst the ongoing pandemic. Puccini's Requiem is also featured in this program as a way for us to recognize the devastation of the pandemic and to hold a moment in our collective hearts for the victims of the virus and their families. This virtual concert is being dedicated in loving memory to Irene McKenzie (JDV) and Ted Mikliechuk (GNC). |
A Christmas Carol
Video premiered at 7:00 PM, December 19, 2020 Video link: A Christmas Carol This concert is produced in collaboration with The Bison Men's Chorus and Good Neighbours Choristers. We will re-tell the classic Christmas tale, A Christmas Carol, by Charles Dickens. The choirs will feature traditional, holiday choral works between the stanzas of the story, and we are excited to work with local artist Taylor Kennington who will create three beautiful works of art during the performance. These pieces of art will be available for auction at some point in the new year, stay tuned for more details! Not only will the choirs perform holiday favourites, but we will give you an opportunity to join your voice with ours, through the singing of two carols. We invite you to sit back, put your feet up, and join us as we journey with Ebenezer Scrooge through the story of his remarkable Christmas Eve transformation! |

Lord, Make Me an Instrument
Video premiered at 10:45 AM, November 11, 2020 Video link: Lord, Make Me an Instrument We are featuring a work by English composer Jeremy Rawson, Lord, Make Me an Instrument of Thy Peace This text is also known as the Prayer of St. Francis or the Peace Prayer, and has historically, though mistakenly, been attributed to St. Francis of Assisi (1181-1226). The Prayer's first publication, in French, dates back to 1912 in a French spiritual magazine, La Clochette, published by La Ligue de la Sainte-Messe. The prayer, widely published during both WWI and WWII, is a petition for help to sow love instead of hate, hope instead of despair, and light instead of darkness. We hope that this prayer can bring you a moment of peace and remembrance this Remembrance Day; marking 75 years since the end of WWII. |
