Details:
The final project will be presented on Wednesday, April 2 between 4:00 and 5:15 PM.
It will take place on the CMU campus, in the chapel - in the building on the south side of Grant. It is a fully accessible space.
Rehearsals for the work will take place following JDV's regular Saturday rehearsals through March. The 'dress rehearsal' will take place during their class on Monday, March 31, starting at 4:00 PM. In the same space as the performance.
You are welcome to invite friends and family if you like.
There will be an ensemble rehearsal early on a Sunday afternoon, TBD, that you are welcome to sit in on, however, it will be in the concert hall at Westminster, which is not an accessible space. I will keep everyone posted on when we'll be working on the score during class, and if you're interested you would be welcome to join us for those sessions as well - their class is on Mondays and Wednesdays, from 4:00 - 5:15 in the chapel (the same space we'll be performing).

I currently have 20 copies of the score for the first rehearsal, and will be able to make more if needed for the next, and subsequent, rehearsals. You are also free to download the mass to use on your device - it is a public domain work.

Here is a link to the Cyber Bass page that provides learning tracks for this particular work. Here, you'll find the option to play all the parts together, or play each individual part on its own. Note: You only have to learn the choral parts.

Something else to note about this work. In the recording above, you'll find there is an extra Benedictus (one is sung by the soprano solo and the other is sung by the full chorus). We will only be using one of these movements for the project, the soprano solo, you can disregard the choral only Benedictus.
The way this project will work is that each of the students will be responsible for conducting one of the movements, or a portion of a movement. During the final few rehearsals, the plan is that the students will rehearse their respective movements. Here is how the work will be broken down:
1. Kyrie
2. Gloria
3. Credo 1 - Credo in unum Deum (pg. 16-the top of pg. 20)
4. Credo 2 - Et incarnates est (middle of pg. 20- top of page 22)
5. Credo 3 - Et resurrexit (top of pg. 23-pg. 27)
6. Sanctus/Osanna
7. Benedictus/Osanna
8. Agnus Dei 1 - Agnus Dei (pg. 36-pg. 37)
9. Agnus Dei 2 - Dona nobis pacem (pg. 38-42)
