Joie de Vive - Coming Up!!
Hello everyone! This is just a quick note to let you know to watch your email in the coming weeks for information regarding our upcoming season! We understand that there are varying comfort levels in our community for a return to in person singing. Know that we value the feelings of all members of our community and as such, while we are currently planning to return to in person singing this fall we are working on the ability to continue to offer streamed rehearsals and concerts. This way, for those who are not comfortable returning to in person singing, or who may have come down with cold-like symptoms and need to stay home, or who may need to miss an in person rehearsal for any reason, can still have the option to tune in and participate. Rest assured though that everything we do in person will be done in the safest way possible, based on the most current information possible and the best practices of choral ensembles from around the world. So you know, all safety protocols will be posted to the website. That is all I have for now, stay tuned and I hope you enjoy the last few weeks of August! Other News!
If you are looking for a warm-up to the fall season, MCA has you covered. We are offering, for the first time, our Choir 101 program. This program is designed for choristers with little to no music background, or for those wanting a refresher before fall rehearsals begin. The dates are Friday, August 19 (7-9PM) and Saturday, August 20 (10-3). We will cover rudimentary theory, vocal health and physiology, and practical chorister skills like sight reading and score awareness. This program is being taught by Dr. Stuart Sladden and you find out more about or register for the program here, which is being held at the Folio Café on the CMU campus. |
